I'd Rather Go Walking

By Fit Bud at 05/11/08 22:33
, any: Walking Exercise

Walking is always good for the heart.

That's already a typical one-liner. Everybody knows that fact. But do you know why? Of course you know. It maintains good blood circulation of the heart and the body. True. What else? It burns calories. Uhmm, right. What else? Walking is cheaper.

Sometimes we become so lazy that even a few kilometer distance seems a hundred miles for us that we even hire a taxi to get you there. In some Asian countries, this is a typical scenario. Mainly because ambush passengers are more prevalent than those waiting at the terminals. And also because of the low cost of fares. However, this doesn't exempt you for doing a regular walk a day.

A 20 to 30 minutes of straight walking a day is the minimum recommended time for an individual to do a walking exercise. However, with this short time, many still fail to abide. The comfort of modern transportation is more likely the reason why. But people not walking this distance and time everyday is missing a good part of their life, both literally and figuratively.

Aside from the hearty benefits of walking for our physical body, walking is also a good way to spend time with someone special. Its pretty nice walking with your friends while talking about the last basketball event. Get rid off the shares stocks tale. Be casual and relax. Walking is also a proven way of removing tension and the "bad hair day" syndrome. Plus, walking will take you to places where you have the chance to stare at a place longer as compared when you are riding a vehicle.

The best reason why you should go on a walkathon everyday is that is burns a lot those fats and calories, making it the cheapest way to lose weight! See, its not only good for the heart, but also good for your fit, body shape!

I'd rather go walking than spend nickels on a cozy diet pill!

By Dietician at 05/05/08 21:37
There are some people who needs a lot of fiber in their body. They are people who are having a hard time digesting the food they eat, in which case, they need fiber rich food. Fiber also maintains the smoothness of your intestinal walls therefore preventing constipation and other stomach related problems. Fiber is also good for loosing weight because it makes you feel full thus, making you feel not hungry for longer period.

Breakfast

  • Corn bran cereals, roasted almonds, non-fat milks, wheat bread
  • Lunch
  • Smoked/Raw/Salad fish or sushi, bran flakes, citrus fruits, carrot juice
  • Dinner
  • Beef with whole wheat pasta, spinach, fruits, muffins
  • Snacks
  • Dried apricots, prunes or raisins, berries and nuts.

The plan is best for you:

  • If you are below the 25 grams fiber consumption per day.
  • If you are having constant intestinal problems.
  • If you want to gain the weight loss effects of fiber rich foods.

The plan is not good for you:

  • If you are not fond of eating fruits and vegetables.
  • If you want frequent but smaller meals.
  • If you are looking for a low carbohydrate plan. (Most fiber rich foods are also high in carbo)

The Price Of Going Green

By Dietician at 05/02/08 20:37
For the past few years, we have been dealing with a lot of "going-organic, going-green" changes. This move mainly concerns us because of the rapid increase of health issues obesity. And adding the issue about McDonald's diet craze adds more to our longing to go green.

I am no vegetarian nor vegan nor an eater of specific food. I am an all-eat open-to-all-foods dieter. That may sound hilarious but its true. You ask why? Because going organic is very much expensive.

Although eating all organic and natural products is definitely good for our health and our environment, it is not very good for our wallet. I don't know if this is also applicable to European countries, but as far as I know, the situation in America and Asia are similar when it comes to the pricing of green and organic products.

When I last checked the market, a regular bottle of milk cost around $0.40 and the cost of an all-natural milk is more than double, $1.10. And even the diet pills are far more expensive than those tablets for headaches and body problems. Looks like the cost of dieting is more expensive than those who really can save us from danger impromptu.

I am not suggesting any, but I say regulate your health and regulate your budget wisely. You do not need to go all out for something if it is not within your budget range. If its not healthy for your wallet, nowadays, that is also considered not healthy for yourself, ha ha. We cannot afford to spend a lot of money just for dieting, just for staying fit and sexy.

As a good mentor said, "Visualization is the key". Think of a way for you not to eat that food, think of something that will make you disgust with that certain food, eventually you will find yourself loosing weight in no time, ha ha!

We can always choose to do regular exercises and eating raw foods. I believe they are the best way to keep yourself healthy at a low price.
