From January to November, a lot of people visit gyms, take dieting pills, undergo surgeries or enroll themselves to fitness programs. But when December comes, all these efforts to lose weight, or at least maintain an already fit body, crashes.
December is the time for the so called Christmas Weight Gain, the monster all diet conscious lad and lass are afraid of. It's the time when all their hope for a better bodily equilibrium may fail, or not.
Who would not be afraid? All those roasted chickens and turkeys, friend chicken, stewed beef, stir fried shrimps, smoked salmon, aged wine, boxes of fruits and tons of sweets all in your table. It's definitely the end of your year long faithful diet.
My brothers gained almost 20 pounds last Christmas, my cousins for about 5 pounds, I gained more or less the same as my younger brother for 7 pounds.
It's a little figure to look at, a simple number added with the word pounds, or for some, kilos. But thse little numbers will take months before they are shred off the body. For the lazy ones, it will take years, because instead of trimming the fats off the body, they add more by eating too much everyday - too much of the unnecessary food our body needs.
And so, the Christmas Weight Gain monster is a successful monster. It troubled a lot of people before, and it promised to still do this year. Beware.
