Hot Summer Season with Smoothie Treats

03/19/10 08:43

I don't know about the place where you are currently in right now, but from where I live, the weather has gotten hotter and hotter as the summer months come in around the corner. It's during those times of the year when I could really feel the sweat dripping down the side of my cheeks under that great hot sun above me.

You know what they say about the summer months. During these days, you gotta make yourself hydrated as always because there's a tendency to get dehydrated in the process, and that could be a little problematic--and dangerous, actually--when that happens. But when you're flooded with ice-cold water already, then what else is left to drink.

Surely there's one other beverage that I can think of. Smoothies, of course! Colas are definitely off the list because aside from being devoid of any kind of nutritional material, they also add in a lot of unwanted calories. I can't imagine myself drinking a can of softdrinks every single day for the next few months.

Contrast this to smoothies, which can be mixed with a lot of fruits that will make you even healthier. With a little fruit, yogurt, whey protein, juice, and lots of ice, you can already come out with the summer's tastiest treat. Mix in these ingredients in your blender and add the respective ingredients according to your own taste preferences. Try not to add sugar because that would just make the healthy drink useless if it's packed with calories.

Just remember to drink your smoothie immediately after you make it. It tastes best that way. Leaving out the smoothie for long periods of time will just melt the ice and make your smoothie less thicker. It also lives a bland taste unto the mixture.

Think about it. The summer season is that time of the year when you can get to show off your body. You won't want to show off a body that is full of flabs, right? So be healthy with whatever you drink so that you may be able to show off.
