Drinking Milk is OK, but Be Sure It's Low-Fat

By Fit Bud at 09/06/08 05:13

It has always been said that drinking is good for our health. Actually, it is heralded as one of the most important food/beverage that a man needs in his lifetime.

Actually, it is really one of the most important things our body needs. Aside from giving us calcium for stronger bones, milk also has zinc and other vitamins that helps our immune system and boosts body resistance from diseases.

But milk is not always good, especially if you are on a diet. For one, milk and other dairy products are high in fat. These fats are the ones we usually avoid if we are on a diet.

So what's the best thing to do aside from not drinking milk? Drink the low-fat or non-fat versions. A lot of milk product nowadays come in non-fat or low-fat bottles, especially made for those who are engaged on a diet.

Drinking low-fat milk is actually the best beverage for the day, except if you are lactose intolerant just like me. But being milk with only less fat makes it the perfect replacement for water. But of course, you can't have milk all day so still drink a lot of water.

Milk is also important for babies. Many essential fatty acids are to be found on milk which a new born needs in order for them to develop good body immunity and healthy brain.

Women, specially those who are already in the advance age, are recommended to have milk in their daily diet. Females are more prone to having osteoporosis compared to males so drinking milk will help them with the enough calcium they need to avoid brittle bones.
