Name of your website?Hotter Than Health
Your name?
Matt Johnson
Your Location (city, etc)
Fort St John
Please give us a short summary of your website?
Our website is all about people improving themselves physically. With obeisity and couch potato-ism running rampant, people are in need of guidance in how to stay healthy. That is what we have to offer.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
My wife & I are business-minded by nature. We are always looking for opportunities. A friend introduced us to the e-book "How To Get Google Ads For Free" We purchased it & decided to make our own website.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
We launched Hotter Than Health less than two months ago, and are already seeing great results.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We wanted to do a health-related website and brainstormed catchy names. Hotter Than Health topped the list.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
We aim to keep it personal. We have a mailing list, but also send individual emails to those who are interested.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Our eventual goal is to have the website as our primary source of income.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
As with anything, the more time & money you invest, the more successful you will be. Right now, we have limited finances, but are investing what we have, and a whole lot of time into our website.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
We would spend thousands of dollars per month marketing. The initial investment is steep, but the return in seeing your site come up # 1 in the search engines pays off in both satisfaction and finances..
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
We would be able to keep up, but we would somewhat lose the personal touch. When you have thousands of emails to respond to, it is difficult to stay personal.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
No unexpected costs. We have spent what we intended to. Headaches. . . LOTS. When we started building this site, we were green. It was a steep learning curve, but it is getting easier.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Finding out what people are looking for. It takes time, patience, and a lot of revisions.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Facebook has been our main promoter thus far. We are now trying google, but have just started.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It is mainly what we expected.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
We have been running the site for almost 2 months now. Like any business, you need to give it a year before doing a major review. We are in it for the long haul. It is just a matter of fine tuning.
