Many people have the misconception that diet is solely dedicated for losing weight. And with losing weight, they do things that they think will burn their fats or lower their food intake. Some are even torturing themselves to work. Let's cut this myth off and speak of the real information. Dieting is not all about losing weight. It's about getting the right nutrient your body needs. It's about getting the right amount of anything. This includes the right duration of sleep, enough rest, proper exercise, adequate water intake and of course, eating the right food.
The mentioned factors of dieting above are actually not easy to do, but at the very least, they are not hard either. It takes precision and discipline to achieve all of them. Actually, each one of them is connected to each other.
Getting the proper amount of sleep is synonymous to having enough rest. The recommended amount of sleep for every person is about 7-8 hours of sleep. For isolated cases like people with damaged intestinal organs, they are advised to take only 6 hours so that their metabolic function will be put to work better. When you're sleeping, your metabolism still works but slower than when you're awake. I for one was told by my doctor to do that. My metabolism is doing good but when I'm asleep, it slows beyond the normal rate. So I sleep 6 or sometimes 5 hours a day. To compensate with the short time of sleep, I usually do siesta or afternoon nap. I do not totally sleep during those times, I just closed my eyes and calm my mind to take off any tension. I just relaxed. That is how I sleep and rest.
Water intake and taking the right amount of food is also connected to each other. While people think that drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day is enough, may I remind you that drinking this amount also has their own duration. You cannot just drink all of the 10 glasses within an hour. The recommended interval for every 2 or 3 glasses of water is 2 hours. It's because that duration is enough for our body to absorb the liquid that it needs. If you take a lot of excess water, then most of it will just go to waste and is actually not used by our body. For people who do not know if they taking the right amount of water, the basic way of knowing it is by looking at the color of your pee. It should looked like an ordinary water. If it's darker or yellowish, then you're not getting the right amount of it.
When you drink a lot of water just before eating, you feel you are already full. This is actually causing a discussion now because some say it's a kind of diet but some say it isn't. For me it's not. It's actually a way of depriving your self from getting the nutrients you are supposed to have. So I advise you to drink enough water at the right time, so you can still eat well and get the nutrients you need.
Eating the right amount of food is sometimes confusing. Sometimes when you are tired, you either feel you are very hungry or you're not hungry at all. The best way to eat the right amount is to have proper resting before eating. This way your stomach stabilizes and knows how much amount do you really need. Eating excessively above the amount of food or nutrient your body really needs will result into fat building. Not eating the right amount of food and nutrients will result otherwise.
